developing services is that of photographic restoration and digital imaging.
Our team can expertly restore heirloom
photographs, thus preserving your memories and family history for future
generations. Old photographs rarely have negatives, making duplicate copies and
replacements impossible. However, we can use modern technologies to restore
damaged prints and then to make copies. We can correct, repair and copy black
and white, colour and sepia photos and can convert any of these to any other
type, so if you have a colour photo that would look good in black and white we
can convert for you.
We are also able to convert 35mm slides,
negatives and VHS video to CD or DVD. This enables your images and videos to be
converted into modern media, thus enabling you to continue to view them, but
more importantly ensuring their preservation.

re-printed or conversion of slides, negatives and video to DVD makes an unusual
and very personal gift!

Restoration of Faded and Discoloured
Photographs
Over time, photos begin to fade and discolour due to
exposure to light or poor processing. A colour cast can also develop as the
chemical balance in the paper alters. However, do not dispose of these valued
heirloom memories as all is often not lost. With our expertise you will be able
to have a digitally mastered copy made, which often reveals additional details
that the original did not.
Repair of Damage
We are able to scan damaged photos and digitally repair
such things as tears, creases, scratches, blemishes, stains and marks. Often
photos in frames become stuck to the glass. We are able to scan images through
the glass, repair the damage and produce a copy.
Tinting and Colouring
Any photo can be tinted or coloured. We
are able to hand tint specific areas or tone the whole photo, for example in
sepia. We are also able to replicate retrospective photographic techniques,
such as vignetting, thus enabling your reproductions to look as unique as the
original.
Additions, Subtractions and Photo
Montage
Sometimes you may see a picture within a picture, such as
something happening in the background or a group photo that is particularly good
of an individual. We are able to capture these images and enlarge them, making
an individual photograph in their own right. We are also able to combine
different images, for example adding a person to a group or making photo
montages of numerous photos. We can also delete areas of a photograph, such as
something that detracts from the image. We can replace missing parts of a
photograph, such as backgrounds, for example when part of the image has been
removed. These images make unique gifts.
Image Enlargement
We are able to scan your photos and enlarge them
to standard enlargement sizes. However, it should be remembered that sometimes
blurring may occur with large enlargements due to poor quality of the original
print. If this is the case we will contact you to discuss further options and
recommendations.
Duplications
Frequently only one copy of a photo will
be available. We are able to scan this image and produce digital duplicates so
that other family members may have their own personal copy. Once again, a truly
unique and personal gift that will be treasured for years to come.
35mm Slide and Negative Conversion
With the convenience of digital images many
people want to convert their old 35mm slide and negatives into digital format.
We can convert your slides and negatives to jpeg format and put onto CD or DVD,
thus enabling you to view your treasured memories.
Conversion of VHS Videos to DVD
Many people nowadays do not have a video player, it
having been replaced by a DVD, resulting in many treasured memories no longer
being able to be viewed. Unlike a video tape that deteriorates over time, DVD’s
do not and can be copied numerous times without the original losing quality. We
are able to convert your videos to DVD, including setting up menus and chapters
and enhancement, meaning your videos can be preserved and viewed for years to
come. This can make an excellent gift, perhaps of a family event such as a
wedding or childhood memories.

All our images are printed on Fuji or Agfa
archival quality photographic paper. Matt finish is standard but gloss is
available upon request.
As standard we reproduce 6 x 4 inch prints,
unless otherwise specified.

Note: Historical
photographs do not fit exactly into modern sizes. We will aim to fit your photo
without cropping if at all possible to enable close comparison to the original
dimensions.

Uploads
We are able to accept digital files
in JPEG, TIFF and PSD. Files can be up to 10mb. Please send your uploads to
info@pawtech.co.uk.
We will automatically notify you of receipt within 48 hours.
Ordering
It is wise to contact us to discuss your
requirements before sending your photos, for a no obligation quote. We will
then be able to discuss your specific requirements and any further options or
practicalities.
We recommend always sending your photos by
registered/recorded post. Always carefully pack using bubble wrap or jiffy
envelopes so no further damage can occur in transit. Remove frames, unless
doing so would cause further damage. If the photo is stuck to the glass send as
it is as we are able to scan through glass.
Despatch of Orders
Completed orders are despatched as soon as
completed. They are packaged to high standards using bubble wrap to safeguard
against damage. They are dispatched by Special Delivery or other method by
arrangement, e.g. courier. A signature upon delivery will be required.
Please allow 28 days for completion of orders,
although frequently we will be able return your order sooner. If you have a
specific deadline, such as an anniversary, birthday etc, please inform us at
point of ordering and we will endeavour to delivery within time.
Terms and Conditions
We take the upmost care with your
photographs and videos. However, we do not accept responsibility for any loss
or damage whilst your photos or videos are in our procession or in transit. We
are not liable for any damage caused by playing and recording videos during the
conversion process.
The sender of any image, negative or video must
own the copyright or have the written permission of the copyright owner. The
send will be liable for any costs resulting from legal action from violation of
copyright.
The extent by which any image or video can be
enhanced is determined by the quality of the original.
Our receipt of your photos and videos is your
acceptance of these terms and conditions.
